Date Night Dressing

Dress, Top & Shoes - Zara | Bag - Givenchy

Sunday night was date night for my boyfriend and I as we celebrated six years together...

I bought this dress a while ago and it's kind of my go to when I can't find anything else to wear. It's perfect for layering up, whether that's a blouse, t-shirt or lace bra - they all work. As it was a Sunday night I wanted to keep it simple so ditched my usual statement earrings and swapped heels for leather sliders - which of course I am completely obsessed with. Any form of sliders are definitely my preferred choice of shoe and after seeing these I couldn't resist (well Joe couldn't resist) in adding them to my collection.

Floral Embroidery

Dress - Zara | Shoes - Asos | Bag - Valentino | Earrings - Cos

Floral embroidery - not something I thought I would be wearing anytime soon but, since Gucci has ensured it will be a huge trend over the next few months, I haven't been able to keep away. As always Zara are bang on trend and have some perfect pieces that incorporate just enough detailing. This dress is new season and is currently my favourite item in my wardrobe. I love the red embroidery against the simple black background and gold accessories set it of perfectly.. I have linked a few alternative embroidered items below!

Silk Bombers

Ribbed dress - River Island | Bomber Jacket - Zara | Trainers - Stan Smith Originals | Bag - Zara | Sunglasses - Primark

Silk bombers are the perfect cover up for spring. I love the floral embroidery on this one from Zara, it adds a feminine touch to an otherwise sporty piece.

Pink Tones - Make Up Must Haves

Bobbi Brown Lip Colour in Sandwash Pink | Bobbi Brown Lip Pencil in Ballet Pink | NARS Blush Duo in Hot Sand/Orgasm

After looking back on my early teenage years and realising I spent most of my time in bright blue and green eyeshadow, I have since been scarred to try out different colours in the fear I will repeat my earlier mistakes. In more recent years I have held tightly onto my liquid eye liner and ventured occasionally over to a subtle gold shimmer (I'm sure many of you can relate). But, after watching endless make up tutorials and witnessing that colourful eye shadows are not always a reminder of high school disasters, I decided it was time to change up my routine.

I have recently bought one of NARS' most iconic and daringly named product - 'Orgasm' - a beautiful pink blusher which has a gold, almost iridescent, finish (which for only £6 extra came in a compact duo with the highlighter 'Hot Sand'- definitely worth it!!) This compact duo along with Bobbi Brown's Lip Colour in 'Sandwash Pink' (worn by the Duchess of Cambridge on her wedding day!!!) have quickly became my favourite products - and they also happen to be in this seasons IT colour. They are an ideal pairing for your everyday make up look. AND if it's good enough for Kate, it's certainly good enough for me. As well as a blusher, 'Orgasm' doubles up as the perfect pink eyeshadow and, applied with eye primer, will last all day and night. To apply I used a mixture of Real Techniques and MAC brushes and finished it off with a setting spray from NYX (I will definitely be blogging about this soon).

Tip: By adding a little blush and highlighter to your everyday make up creates a warmer, softer skin tone.

OOTD

Topshop Camel Coat | The Kooples Jeans | Primark T-shirt | River Island Ankle Boots | Missguided Sunglasses | Zara Bag

I am forever buying new clothes but I have a terrible habit of wearing the same outfit day in, day out (I'm sure many of you can relate!!) My daily uniform usually consists of a black t-shirt and jeans - it's just too easy to fall back on when nothing else will do. However, this otherwise boring combo is the perfect base layer for a statement coat and accessories to match. At first glance, the 'neck scarf' was not a trend I thought I would be trying however, after one attempt at wearing it I was hooked and I'm now a huge fan. I love how it adds a sophisticated edge to any simple outfit.

New Season Neutrals

As shown in my previous post, neutral tones are perfect for winter layering. And what's more, they don't have to come in the form of chunky knits. I've put together a few of my favourite new season items and whether it's nude, grey, white or camel, they are all perfect for channeling those neutral vibes.
